1. Match arrangements will be instigated by the home team and results passed to the
Secretary at Tel 91 274894 or by E Mail at bobbyconroy@yahoo.co.uk
2. Each team will consist of five players.
3. Handicap – minimum of 6 (5.5) as at the 1st November the previous year.
4. A player whose handicap is reduced to 5 before he has played a match is still eligible to compete. A player is no longer eligible to compete if his handicap is reduced to 4, even if his handicap returns to 5.
5. Section matches will be in league format as set out in the draw. Two points for a win one point for a half match. In the event of a tie away points will count. If further tied the team winning over the other will count
6. All matches should be completed by the dates stated. Extensions may be allowed during April and May. All section matches must be completed by the 30th June. There will be no extensions given beyond this date. The team with the highest number of points at the 30th June will be judged winners of the section.
7. In the event of unplayed matches the teams deemed responsible will be excluded from the section and all their results will be removed. Results of matches between the remaining teams will determine the winner.
8. A one year suspension will be imposed on a team deemed responsible for an unplayed match the following year.
9. If a club field an ineligible player in a match the 2 points will be awarded to the opposing team and a 2 point reduction imposed on the offending team.
10. No extensions will be permitted in the second and subsequent rounds.
11. The final will be arranged between the two clubs on a suitable date.
12. There will be sections of 4 teams if numbers allow, there could be sections of 3.
13 There will be 16 teams in round two. they will be made up from section winners who will qualify automatically.
and the highest scoring second placed teams. The second round draw will be seeded 1 to 16 on the number ofpoints scored.
14. In the match-play stages if there is a tie, holes up will count. If still tied the players in the last match will play tie holes.
15 If, due to inclement weather, players are called of the course, the following procedures
will apply. The matches will be resumed from the position on the course where they had been called in, on a date and
time agreed by the team captains. Substitutes are allowed if players are not available.
16. Home team captains should offer the away team captain two dates on which the match can be played.
17. 8 silver medals will be awarded to the winning team and 8bronze medals will awarded to the team in second place.
Teams with larger squads wiil pay for the extra medals.
This competition is organised independent of the G.U.I. No approach should be made to the G.U.I. with regards to disputes etc
